Olfana Privacy Policy

Olfana is operated by Velanta (Private) Limited (“Velanta,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). This Privacy Policy explains how Olfana collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our mobile application and related services.

By using Olfana, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account and Profile Information

When you create or use an Olfana account, we may collect:

• Name, username, or display name

• Email address

• Account and user identifier

• Authentication information provided through email, Google, or Apple Sign-In

• Country and optional city

• Profile photo and biography

• Fragrance preferences and taste profile

We do not receive or store your Google or Apple account password.

User-Generated Content

We collect content and information you choose to create or share, including:

• Fragrance reviews and ratings

• Posts, captions, comments, and recommendations

• Profile photos and other uploaded images

• Personal fragrance collection and shelf entries

• Wear-diary entries

• Lists and layering combinations

• Likes, saves, follows, and blocks

• Reports submitted about users or content

Some information you publish may be visible to other Olfana users, depending on your account and privacy settings.

Usage and Technical Information

We may automatically collect limited technical and usage information, including:

• App interactions and features used

• Device or app-installation identifiers

• App version and operating-system information

• Crash reports and diagnostic information

• General device information

• IP address processed by our service providers

• Performance and reliability information generated through normal service operation

Olfana uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand app usage and improve the service, and Firebase Crashlytics to identify crashes and technical problems.

Olfana does not request or collect precise GPS location. If you voluntarily add a country or city to your profile, that information is treated as profile information.

Search Information

Olfana does not currently store individual perfume search queries as search-history records.

2. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

• Create, authenticate, and manage user accounts

• Provide and operate Olfana’s features

• Display profiles and user-generated content

• Maintain fragrance collections, lists, reviews, and interactions

• Personalize and improve the user experience

• Enable community features such as follows, likes, saves, and comments

• Detect abuse, fraud, spam, and violations of our policies

• Review reports and enforce community standards

• Diagnose crashes and technical problems

• Protect users, Olfana, and our services

• Comply with applicable legal obligations

We do not sell users’ personal information.

Olfana does not use personal information for third-party behavioural advertising and does not share information with data brokers.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

Where applicable, we process personal information based on:

• Providing the services requested by you

• Your consent

• Our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving Olfana

• Compliance with legal obligations

You may withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, although this will not affect processing already completed lawfully.

4. Service Providers

Olfana uses third-party service providers to operate the application, including Google Firebase services such as:

• Firebase Authentication

• Cloud Firestore

• Cloud Functions

• Firebase Analytics

• Firebase Crashlytics

These providers may process information on our behalf according to their own privacy and security terms. Information may be processed or stored in countries other than your country of residence.

5. Information Sharing

We may share information:

• With service providers that help us operate Olfana

• When required by law, regulation, court order, or lawful government request

• To investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or policy violations

• To protect the rights, safety, and property of users, Velanta, or others

• As part of a business merger, acquisition, restructuring, or transfer, subject to appropriate safeguards

Content you voluntarily publish may be visible to other users.

6. Data Retention

We generally retain account information, profile information, and user-generated content while your account remains active.

When you delete your account, we initiate deletion of your account and associated personal content. Certain information may be retained where necessary for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or community-safety purposes.

Reports and enforcement records may be retained to protect the community and prevent repeated abuse. Analytics and crash information are retained according to our Firebase configuration and Google Firebase’s standard retention practices.

Residual copies may temporarily remain in secure backups before being removed through the normal backup cycle.

7. Account and Data Deletion

You can request deletion through:

Olfana → Settings → Delete Account

You may also email olfanasupport@gmail.com from the email address connected to your account.

We may need to verify that you control the account before processing an email deletion request. We aim to complete verified deletion requests within 30 days, unless applicable law requires or permits certain information to be retained.

Account deletion is permanent and may remove your profile, collection, reviews, posts, comments, lists, wear-diary entries, and other associated information.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:

• Access your personal information

• Correct inaccurate information

• Request deletion of your information

• Request a copy or export of your information

• Object to or restrict certain processing

• Withdraw consent where applicable

• Submit a privacy complaint to an appropriate authority

9. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards to protect information. However, no internet transmission or electronic-storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and for notifying us if you believe your account has been compromised.

10. Children’s Privacy

Olfana is not directed to children under the age of 16, and users must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we learn that such information has been collected, we will take reasonable steps to remove the account and associated data. Parents or guardians may contact us at olfanasupport@gmail.com.

11. International Data Transfers

Because our service providers operate internationally, information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your country of residence. Where required, we rely on appropriate legal safeguards for such transfers.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to Olfana, our practices, service providers, or legal obligations.

When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or another appropriate method.
